Food Waste Reduction Measures for Households (FARM4HH)

Food Waste Reduction Measures for Households (FARM4HH) is a collaborative project between sus.lab and Agroscope, and funded by SNSF, that aims to address food waste in Swiss households. This interdisciplinary effort investigates the interdependencies, acceptance, and effectiveness of various measures adopted by political actors and the food value chain.

In this project, sus.lab and Agroscope will combine their expertise in policy analysis, value chain dynamics, and food waste quantification to identify and evaluate further reduction strategies. This involves using research methods like food waste diaries, interviews, surveys and workshops with the targeted focus group to gather insights into the food waste behavior of households across different regions in Switzerland.

FARM4HH seeks to provide policy makers and the value chain with data-driven findings and household-tailored interventions to provide actionable recommendations for improving food waste reduction strategies in Switzerland that are aligned with both sustainability and public policy goals.
